Instructions
Slow Cooked Pork Steaks
Mix together the flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Dredge the pork steaks in the flour mixture. Make sure each steak is evenly coated.
Heat the butter and olive oil in a large sauce pan on high heat.
Brown the pork steaks for about 2 minutes on each side.
Remove pork steaks from pan. Through the sliced onions and garlic into the pan and caramelize.
Add white wine to pan and let reduce. Add chicken stock. Then add the pork steaks back into the pan.
Reduce heat to low and cover. Let simmer for 90 minutes.
Onion Gravy
Remove the pork steak from the pan. Leave the rest of the drippings in pan and return to heat.
Create a slurry with 1 teaspoon of flour and 1 cup of water. Add to the drippings and stir constantly until it reaches your preferred thickness.
Return pork steaks to pan and cover in gravy and cook for 5 minutes.
Whip up some mashed potatoes (from scratch or instant). Smother the mashed potatoes with your braised pork and onion gravy. Enjoy!
