saucy (sô′sē):
adjective
- Confident and full of energy, in an entertaining and exciting way.
- Playfully rude and a spirited lack of respect.
- Having the consistency of or covered in sauce.
We would suggest a 4th definition: Drinking to slight intoxication ….who isn’t feeling “saucy” after a glass or two of bourbon?
Sauces are a simple way to add flavor depth to everything from eggs, to sandwiches, to pastas and meats. A Saucier is an integral, and highly respected, part of any kitchen.
For full disclosure, we’re not actual Sauciers….just saucy.
“At Red Meat Lover, we embrace feeling saucy – playfully rude, endlessly brash, and usually covered in sauce too.”
The truth is we just like making hot sauce and sauces that complement our food. Some of our hot sauces will be audacious and intrusive. Quite frankly, that’s the way we like hot sauce. Fresh, brazen, and aloof.
Others will be more “cultured” and “polite”, to appeal to a more robust audience; polished and versatile enough for a Thanksgiving dinner or 4th of July barbeque.
We’ll look to use a wide array of peppers, spices, and herbs to create our recipes but will try to keep them as simple as possible….although previously unavailable herbs are becoming more widely distributed in many states.
We’re by no means experts here but we’re curious novices. We will post our trials in our Feeling Saucy blog posts and document the recipes below.
